Troop 52 Cross Country Ski Trip (or mountian hike if there is no snow).

Depart Friday February 24th 5:30 pm from the barn.
Return Sunday February 26th 1:00 pm

A unique opportunity to try a XC ski winter activity. In the event there is no snow, we will still cabin camp and day hike in the mountains. The ski area fee will be refunded.

Cost is $53 ($25 trip fee and $28 ski area fee) which includes:

Campers,
For Scouts planning on arriving Saturday AM for the Klondike, you must arrive by 7am. The Troop will be at the Ottawa camp site. Please be in your Class A's and dressed for a day outdoors. Links to maps are below.

Meeting tonight 7:30pm, Jan 25, 2012 for Klondike Prep - Simon Stock House

Scouts and Parents,
The 7:30 Klondike meeting scheduled tonight will be held in the Simon Stock House at the Church.

The Simon Stock House is located next to the School. As you face the Entrance to the school cafeteria where we normally meet, the Simon Stock House is the Ranch House to the right of the school. There is a small parking area and driveway for drop-off.

Scouts, walk up and around from the rear of the house to the front door.

IMPORTANT KLONDIKE INFORMATION

Scouts and Parents,
First, I want to thank everyone who participated in the barn clean-up tonight, you all did a great job. The barn looks great!

Since we didn't get to finish all of the Klondike prep before 9pm, the scouts voted to have a quick meeting tomorrow night, 1/25, from 7:30 to 8pm to plan their meals for Klondike and divide food purchases for the sleds. If everyone arrives on time at 7:30pm, it shouldn't take long. We are checking to see what space is available, meanwhile, plan to meet at the Rectory Lounge unless we send an Email with a changed location.

Troop Meeting tonight - Barn Clean up, January 24

Campers:
As Mr. Fusco communicated earlier - the Barn clean-up has been moved to tonight. No Class A / uniforms, no Merit badges, please dress for the outdoor temps and be ready to work in the barn moving, organizing, and prepping the sleds for Klondike.

Please meet at the rectory at 7:30pm. We will collect permission
slips/fee for Klondike and over-due Summer camp payments at the start
of the meeting. Pickup will be back at the rectory at the end of the
evening, normal time.

Doors open at 8:45pm for the show and you should be there by 9pm. Tickets are sold online this year and price is $20, plus a $1 PayPal fee. Barn Clean-Up CANCELED Saturday, Jan 21, 9-12pm DUE TO WEATHER

Campers,
As Mr. Fusco has reviewed the last two troop meetings, we are holding a
mandatory barn clean-up. The clean-up will take place during Tuesday's Troop meeting since the Saturday clean-up has been canceled due to the weather.

We need to prepare for the Klondike coming up and the current state of
the barn will not permit that to happen. Please come dressed to
move, organize, etc.

If you can not make it for justified reasons, please reply or sent a
note to scoutmaster@troop52campers.com with the reason.

Caroling at Briarleaf

Campers -
In the spirit of Christmas we will once again be caroling for the residents of the Briarleaf nursing home. We're all set for Friday, 12/16. We're scheduled to meet at 6pm at the Nursing Home and are typically finished making our rounds by 7-7:30pm. This is a Troop 52 tradition so please plan to attend. Don't forget to bring along cookies / treats for the residents to enjoy while we sing. This year we are suggesting the treats are individually wrapped in paper, plastic or small bags to keep things more sanitary and neater for the residents.

Scouting for Food

Campers, It's that time of year again where we can do what we do best, make an impact and help those who need help. It's time for scouting for food. Please take the bags around your local area and hand them out, then return this weekend to collect the bags. Bring any collected bags to next weeks(November 16) meeting and give them to Mr Gould. The local pantry in the area is in dire need of donations and with our help we can help them touch many families lives during this holiday season.
