What:
5 days canoeing and camping on the upper Delaware River. Class I & II rapids.

Itinerary:

Wednesday, July 7th
6.30 pm – Meet at Barn to load tents, canoes and group equipment.

Thursday, July 8th
3.30 pm – Meet at OLMC car park.
4.00 pm – Depart
7.00 pm - Arrive Ten Mile River Scout Camp, Tusten, NY – overnight.

Friday, July 9th
8.00 am - Depart TMR

Break – Zane Grey Access Area – Zane Grey Museum.

Arrive Delaware State Forest – primitive camp – overnight.

Saturday, July 10th
8.00 am – depart camp.

Arrive Milford Beach area – camp – overnight.

Sunday, July 11th
8.00 am – depart camp.

Arrive Dingmans Campsite – full service camp – overnight.

Monday, July 12th
8.00 am – depart camp.

Arrive Delaware River Campgrounds - full service camp – overnight.

Tuesday, July 13th
8.00 am – depart camp.
4.00 pm – arrive Sandt’s Eddy – Pull out.
7.00 pm – arrive OLMC car park – unload

Who.
Trip is open to:
Scouts who:

  • Are 14 and older by July 9th.
  • Have passed the Scout swim test within 6 months prior to trip.
  • Have a current BSA part B medical form.
  • Have previously completed at least one Troop 52 canoe trip

    • - OR have the Canoeing merit badge
    - OR have verifiable equivalent experience.

Registered Scout Leaders.

Qualified Parents (with permission of trip leader).

Cost:
Expected to be less than $100 for all meals and campsite fees.
Does not include gas/driving costs.
A $50 deposit (non-refundable) is due by 5/17/2010 to secure your place. Please make a check out to 'BSA Troop 52', put your name(s) and 'Delaware Trip' on it and give to the trip leader or the Troop treasurer (Mr. Barnett).

Other information.
Limited to 20 participants. Participant’s parents will be expected to assist with transportation. Tents, cooking gear, canoes, paddles and PFD’s will be provided. (Use of your own equipment is encouraged. However, due to the necessity of carrying all food and equipment for 5 days, kayaks cannot be accommodated).

Participants will responsible for personal gear including sleeping bag and dry bag(s).
